Told the seller I would take the car. He's gotta buy his new car though, so no Maxima for a week or two. Not that it much matters, I probably won't be able to get it on the road for a few months.

My friend has an anniversary edition Maxima with the same 3.0L. First thing you should do is do the coolant reroute for the idle control valve. When the internal seals go bad, it shorts out a large section of the ECU, which then means new ECU, reprogramming at a dealer for the chip in the key to work, and new ISCV. Not fun.

My first car was a 1990 Maxima that I bought for $200!

Easily one of the fastest FWD cars of the era. The 1995-2003 ones are awesome cars.

Just... uh... don't remove the 110ish mph speed governor, or you might get many tickets. If you know what I mean.

yeah, I can attest to this!
the 1998-2003 maxima is one of those sleeper family sedans...
110+ easily, and they're good for speeds up to 150 with minimal work
